I went to VR World NYC, the Largest VR Experience center on this side of the planet
I was in New York City over the weekend hanging out with my sister for my birthday. We walked past the empire state building and BOOM there it was.
I read the neon banner “VR World” and my heart rose a few levels. We rushed inside and were greeted by a friendly security guard that directed us to the check-in gate.
The helpful lady in the front told us all about what VR World is about and when they started. Currently, VR World only features one package, a $40 all-day pass with re-entry hosting a plethora of over 50 VR experiences.

- Tilt Brush (on a green screen)

- Thumper
- Ogre Archery

- Richie’s Plank Experience
- Racing Driving Simulator
Upon entry in the main area I plunged into a futuristic world with VR Systems, a bar and a little cafe area. It was a little overwhelming but VR World’s staff is awesome and helpful.
Every station had a super friendly assistant that introduced what each game is all about. As well as, setting up and troubleshoot any issues that impeded the experience for you.
I’m not here to review each game because that’s not the point of this article. VR World didn’t make any of these games they are a gateway to the public to virtual reality.
VR World is very clean and the atmosphere is perfect. At the door, you receive a mask to wear, as a liner between your face and the VR equipment. They also sanitize the equipment before and after every user.
Long wait times for the most part don’t exist for any game because of their registry system. You can electronically sign in and each person gets 10 minutes to play. 10 minutes sounds short, but in a VR game, it’s actually quite a long time. However, if you are signed into one queue you are not able to join another game without losing your spot in the other.
They have 3 floors of different things to choose from.
1st Floor: Plank Experience, Fruit Ninja, Flying Simulator, Racing Simulator, I Expect to Die, Lucky’s Tale, Play Things, Dear Angelica As well as the bar and seating area.
2nd Floor: 360 Movies and Documentaries
3rd Floor: Raw Data, Brookhaven Experiment, Serious Sam, Thumper, Tilt Brush, Job Simulator, Rick & Morty, The Climb, Superhot, Space Pirate Trainer, Ogre Archery
If you are ever in NYC VR World is a without a doubt a fantastic option for entertainment and will impress whomever you are taking, even for late night strolls. (VR World closes at 10pm)
